Impacted Wisdom Teeth

Impacted wisdom teeth occur when your third molars become partially or fully trapped in your gums or jawbone. The treatment solution for impacted wisdom teeth is usually wisdom tooth removal (oral surgery).

How Do I Know If I Have Impacted Wisdom Teeth?

Below are common signs that you may have impacted wisdom teeth. Please contact us if you are experiencing pain or a combination of these symptoms.

  • Pain or swelling of your jaw or face.
  • Red, swollen or bleeding gums.
  • A bad taste in your mouth.
  • Bad breath (halitosis).
  • Difficulty opening your mouth all the way.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

The process for wisdom teeth removal is simple and usually performed within one visit. Often, all four wisdom teeth are removed to guarantee the procedure’s success for the patient’s future oral health. The recovery process varies for each patient, but most find they are almost entirely back to normal within a few weeks of the procedure. If patients experience any unusual discomfort or swelling during or after the recovery process, it is vital for them to contact their dentist for immediate attention.

If you would like to learn more about your wisdom teeth removal options in Los Angeles, please call our office to schedule a consultation to get started.

Bridge Dental Work

One lasting solution to missing teeth is dental bridge work. A bridge is a dental restoration treatment that literally “bridges the gap” in a patient’s smile. To complete the bridge, dental crowns are placed on both teeth that surround the gap followed by the false tooth positioned in between. Most patients find the natural look and feel of the bridge both restore their oral health and their confidence.

Similar to dental crowns, bridges offer both cosmetic and health benefits. Enhancements include restoring a patient’s smile and ability to speak and chew properly, maintaining the shape of their face, and preventing the remaining teeth from displacement.

Secure Full Mouth Restoration

Implant overdentures are a great option for a secure full mouth restoration. Most patients who need dentures to restore their smiles are hesitant to proceed with the process because conventional dentures tend to be uncomfortable or do not stay in place. With implant overdentures, patients can have satisfaction knowing their replacement teeth will securely stay in place while in use.

In addition, implant overtures offer patients a variety of advantages, including:

  • Easier Cleaning. Since the appliance can be removed, cleaning is much more effective and efficient.
  • Additional Facial Support. If a patient has experienced significant bone loss, implant overdentures can offer additional facial support where the bone was lost.
  • Reduced Cost. Overall, implant overdentures cost less than alternative implant procedures making them a suitable option for many patients seeking to enhance their smile.

What to Expect During the Procedure

The implant overdenture procedure is similar to other implant procedures in that it takes multiple steps to assure proper placement, healing, and fit for the patient. The process commonly includes:

  • The dentist places dental implants into the jawbone followed by a period of healing to allow the bone to grow around the implant creating a strong bond.
  • To replace the patient’s teeth, a customized set of overdentures are designed and made to fit the shape, and natural appearance of the patient’s teeth.
  • After healing is complete, the overdentures are placed on the implants creating a strong, non-slip fit.

Implant overdentures are a tooth replacement solution that leaves patients feeling confident, worry-free, and comfortable. To learn more about this revolutionary dental solution, contact your dentist in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills today.

Routine Exams For Preventative Dentistry

We offer high-quality routine exams to best care for each patient’s dental needs, and to help prevent any issues from escalating. Through our thorough review, we can get a better understanding of a patient’s current oral health. Once we have a complete picture of his/her overall health, we can recommend best practices and services to give him/her a smile he/she desires. Routine exams also provide the opportunity for patients to express concerns and desires to improve their smiles.

Through these exams, our staff is able to understand a patient’s unique dental needs and best care for the patient’s oral health. Routine exams at our practice are designed to prolong the overall oral health of the patient including improving gum hygiene.

High-Quality Gum Hygiene

At our routine exams, we get not only a better understanding of a patient’s teeth health, but also gum health. Most patients understand how daily brushing and flossing care for their teeth, but not always how it also improves the health of their gums. Proper gum hygiene benefits a patient’s long term oral health by preventing disease and possible damage. At our practice, our focus is providing the most excellent routine exams to best support our patients’ overall oral health. After all, gum and ridge bone health is the foundation to a healthy smile.

Properly caring for patient dental needs is the top priority. Our dentist desires to see his patients leave with improved dental care that lasts. To keep your superlative smile of a lifetime, contact our office to schedule your routine exam. Correctly caring for your teeth and gums promotes better overall health by preventing related diseases. Let us provide the best care for your teeth and gums to prolong your lifetime of a confident, radiant smile.

Do I Need A Root Canal?

If you’re experiencing pain related to a deep tooth infection, you may need a root canal. Patients who are experiencing swelling in their face or neck, a hole in their tooth, tooth pain, gum swelling, or temperature sensitivity may be experiencing symptoms of a deep tooth infection. If this infection is left untreated, it could lead to severe complications such as a tooth abscess or loss of the tooth in the future. A root canal is the best option for preventing further damage to a patient’s tooth.

Example Of Dental Crown Post Root Canal Treatment

What Is Root Canal Treatment?

A root canal is the removal of the infected pulp (soft interior of the tooth) from the interior of a patient’s tooth to prevent more severe issues in the future. Once the infected pulp is removed, the canal and pulp chamber of the tooth is flushed clean. In some cases, the canal may need to be reshaped for later filling. The process generally requires one or more visits to remove the infection and restore the patient’s tooth properly. If multiple visits are needed to remove the disease, a temporary crown is placed on the tooth until the procedure is complete. Once the root canal is clean and dry, the area is filled, and a permanent crown is placed on the tooth to protect the canal from saliva.
