Pasha Dental Inlays/Onlays

When a tooth suffers damage that is too extensive to be treated with a simple filling, but not extensive enough to need a full-coverage crown, Pasha Dental may recommend inlays or onlays. An inlay or an onlay is the best option for restoring the tooth

What Are Inlays And Onlays?

Both inlays and onlays are considered “indirect” fillings, meaning that they are fabricated outside the mouth (generally at a dental laboratory), and then bonded to the tooth. This is in contrast to a “direct” filling, which is applied directly to the cavity during a single office visit.

An indirect filling is considered an “inlay” when it fits within the little points or “cusps” of a back (premolar or molar) tooth. It is an “onlay” if it covers one or more of these cusps. Either way, the procedure for placing an inlay or onlay is the same.

The Benefits on Inlays and Onlays

Composite materials tend to shrink, and if the size of the cavity is too large that shrinkage can lead to severe nerves damage, and eventually a Root Canal.

To avoid unnecessary Root Canals, and to conserve more tooth structure. We treat teeth indirectly with bonded inlays / onlays.

Inlays/Onlays are indirect restorations using Emax (type of material we use) fillings that our laboratory makes based on your tooth impression. Then we bond it to your tooth with a composite.

The Pasha Dental Biomimetic Approach

When it comes to dental health, you can rely on the Pasha Dental Biomimetic Approach. Our practice’s philosophy is keeping and preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. Recent advances in adhesive dentistry allows us to save more of the natural tooth structure and to replace only the decayed, weak and fractured parts of each defective tooth.

What Is The Biomimetic Approach?

The Biomimetic Approach and Preventive Dentistry can work alongside to save teeth for a lifetime, (at least much longer than typically possible with conventional dentistry). Our dentistry is committed to avoid unnecessary procedures. We believe: “Less is More” when it comes to treating teeth.

Routine Exams

At our practice, we offer high-quality routine exams to best care for each patient’s dental needs. Through our thorough review, we can get a better understanding of a patient’s current oral health. Once we have a complete picture of his/her overall health, we can recommend best practices and services to give him/her a smile he/she desires.

High-Quality Gum Hygiene

At our routine exams, we get not only a better understanding of a patient’s teeth health, but also gum health. Most patients understand how daily brushing and flossing care for their teeth, but not always how it also improves the health of their gums. Proper gum hygiene benefits a patient’s long term oral health by preventing disease and possible damage. At our practice, our focus is providing the most excellent routine exams to best support our patients’ overall oral health. After all, gum and ridge bone health is the foundation to a healthy smile.

Gumline Sculpting Beverly Hills

Do you have concerns about your gumline? Does your gumline appearance affect the way you smile or interact with others? If so, our gumline sculpting procedure in Beverly Hills could be just you need!

The Importance Of Gum Health

When it comes to oral health, most patients think about their teeth first; however, it is only one aspect of complete oral health. Protecting against bacteria that cause gum disease and infection is a priority at our practice. Ensuring a patient’s gums are healthy is also vital in caring for their dental needs. One way we ensure a patient’s oral health is through a minimally invasive procedure called gumline sculpting.

We often see patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their smile and discover redesigning their gumline to be beneficial in enhancing the look of their smile and improving their oral health. As a minimally invasive procedure, gumline sculpting is safe, fast, and mostly painless. Patients can quickly get back to their life as usual with little to no recovery time. Many discover an improved sense of happiness, self-confidence, and desire to be social after getting their new smile.

What to Expect

Like other dental procedures, the dentist will meet with a patient to determine if they are a proper candidate for gum sculpting. After the consultation, treatment will be advised based on each patient’s individual needs. For example, if a patient has more gum than needed, removal of part of the gum line may be recommended to ensure a beautiful appearance and oral health. Recovery time will vary with each treatment plan depending on the type of anesthesia needed to perform the procedure.

Most patients experience minor swelling and discomfort after the procedure. If necessary, the dentist may recommend a strict diet of soft foods or liquids for a few days to lessen the risk of infection. If a graft or bone contouring is needed, recovery time may include limited physical activity to ensure the gums have time to heal. Our goal is to see our patients leave with radiant smiles that boost their self-confidence and improve their oral health for long term care.

Oral Cancer Screening Beverly Hills

The goal of an oral cancer screening is to find mouth cancer or precancerous lesions early when it is more likely to be removed or cured. Oral cancer screenings are recommended for patients who are at high risk of oral cancer. Some factors that contribute to oral cancer include the use of any tobacco; heavy alcohol use; previous oral cancer diagnosis; and excessive sun exposure that could lead to lip cancer.

What to Expect During Your Oral Cancer Screening

For patients who present a high risk for oral cancer, the dentist will recommend an oral cancer screening during a routine exam to determine if any cancer or precancerous lesions are present. We understand the anxiety and uncertainty patients may experience before or during an oral cancer screening. Our dentist takes great care in explaining the process and what a patient can expect during the exam.

In general, our dentist will examine a patient’s mouth for white or red patches or mouth sores. He will also feel the tissue in a patient’s mouth for lumps or abnormalities. If a patient wears dentures, they will need to be removed to examine the mouth properly.

The screening is simple but effective in helping with early detection. If the dentist discovers any signs of possible cancer or precancerous lesions, he may recommend a follow-up appointment or biopsy to determine if cancer cells are present. We desire to properly care for patients by aiding them in understanding all aspects of their oral health.

If you think your lifestyle may lead to oral cancer, please contact our office to request a consultation to find out if oral cancer screening is right for you. Our goal is to help patients in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles improve their oral health and confident smiles for a lifetime.

Night Guards Los Angeles

What Are Night Guards?

Night guards are oral devices worn at night that help protect your teeth from the damage caused by grinding. At the same time, wearing a night guard has also been proven to help prevent patients from grinding their teeth altogether

Premium Night Guards

Many patients benefit from the use of a night guard regularly. For some, teeth grinding occurs most often during the night and over time wears down a patient’s teeth creating bite and oral health issues. A night guard prevents teeth grinding by separating the top and bottom teeth with a layer of protection that lasts for an extended period with regular use. Patients who use the night guard daily find that their teeth hurt less in the morning and may notice a difference in the tightness of their jaws. Overall, night guards protect patient’s teeth from not only grinding damage, but also complete oral health. Night guards can prevent future jaw joint problems and even chronic headaches.

Quality Sports Guards

Over the last 30 years, sports guards have been highly encouraged by the American Dental Association for protecting your teeth while playing a sport. Athletic dental injuries can be life-altering. Patients who are active in sports whether soccer, hockey, gymnastics, basketball, etc. are encouraged to wear to a suitable mouth guard. As with other dental health, prevention is critical when maintaining proper care of a patient’s teeth and gums.

Assisting patients with protecting their teeth and reassuring their long-term dental health is a vital part of our practice. If you are interested in learning more about night or sports guards, please call our office to schedule a consultation to determine how we can help you protect your teeth. Sports guards are also very beneficial to prevent young adults from injuries during physical activities.

Best Bad Breath Treatment Los Angeles

Do you suffer from bad breath and require professional bad breath treatment? The easiest way to prevent bad breath is to brush and floss daily properly. However, there are other instances where your tongue or gum health can cause excessively bad breath. It is essential to visit your dentist for optimal oral health at least twice a year.

Prevention

Patients have the opportunity at home to guarantee their breath continues to be bacteria free and smelling fresh. Brush and floss daily. . This removes tartar and bacteria from the mouth preventing and long-lasting damage.

Brush Your Tongue

As stated before, the tongue collects most of the bacteria that cause bad breath, so regular brushing removes the build-up and lowers bad breath over time.

Avoid Dry Mouth

Keeping adequately hydrated helps promote saliva and in turn, keeps bad breath under control. Get a new toothbrush. Changing your toothbrush every three to four months guarantees the brush is functioning correctly while cleaning your teeth which removes bacteria and lowers bad breath.

Routine Dental Exams

If you are concerned about the freshness of your breath, contact our office to schedule an appointment in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. We look forward to the opportunity to help you achieve fresh breath to better your life.
